2016 Spring Clean Up
The Town of Appomattox will be conducting ‚ÄúSpring Clean Up‚ÄĚ the weeks of March 28 – April 1, 2016 and April 4 – 8, 2016.
Town residents are asked to place brush, grass clippings, limbs, etc. at the curb.¬† Brush and tree limbs should be no longer than six feet, and where feasible should be in bags.¬† It is not intended for commercial cuttings.¬† Residents are asked to have those items removed by the contractor performing the work.
The leaf machine will also be available for leaves that you rake to the curbside.¬† Leaf piles should be free of sticks or rocks.
Also, you may place unwanted household items such as appliances, furniture, etc. at the curbside during this time.¬† Please call the Public Works Office at 352-8393 to notify us of your items to be discarded.¬† Items will not be picked up unless your request has been received.¬† Thank you for your cooperation.
The Town of Appomattox offers curbside garbage collection, brush collection and leaf collection. The Town also provides snow removal from streets within the Town Limits, installation and maintenance of sidewalks, sign maintenance and street lights. The Public Works Department is also responsible for the maintenance of all town owned facilities such as Abbitt Park and the Appomattox Community Park (Children’s Park).
The Town of Appomattox will begin leaf collection starting November 1st. Leaf collection will take place in all areas at least once a week. NO PHONE CALL IS NECESSARY.
Loose Leaf Collection – November 1 – December 31 — Loose leaves should be raked to the curb, but not into the street or blocking driveways. Leaf piles should be free of sticks and rocks.
Bagged Leaf Collection – November 1 – January 31 — Bagged leaves should be bagged and ties and placed at curbside for pickup.
