Held the first Sunday in December, the Community of Candles celebration brings families together to celebrate the Christmas season in downtown Appomattox.  A parade precedes the festivities, which include local musicians playing Christmas tunes, free horse and carriage rides, pictures with Santa and a snowflake or two on Main Street.
