The Town of Appomattox plans and coordinates of the annual Historic Appomattox Railroad Festival.  In it’s 38th year, this annual event brings the Appomattox community together for a weekend filled with music & entertainment, arts & crafts, and festival food.  Held the second full weekend in October, the highlight of the festival is Saturday’s parade where everyone has a chance to be a star for the day.  The firemen’s competition rounds out the weekend on Sunday when teams of local volunteer fire squads face off in the ultimate water battle.

The Planning Committee for the festival is made up of Town staff as well as many volunteers from the community.  Volunteering for the festival can be very rewarding.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the festival committee at: (434)352-2338
